Description
Two players. One team. One CPU to beat.
XPong brings teamwork to the heart of classic paddle action on the Commodore 64. Its standout feature is simultaneous two-player cooperative multiplayer, with both players defending the same side of the arena against a faster CPU opponent.
Each player controls a separate paddle. One guards the back line while the other intercepts returning shots closer to the centre. Cover your teammate, time your returns and build a winning partnership: every point belongs to the team.
Cooperative matches keep the Classic arena rules, putting the focus on positioning, reflexes and coordination.
For solo players and competitive rivals, XPong adds a succession of arena variations. Gravity Well bends the ball’s trajectory, Hyper Split shrinks paddles after impacts, and Multi-Ball Madness challenges you to track two balls at once. A tied match unlocks the decisive Overdrive round.
Dash into position, charge your paddle and unleash a powerful smash. Energy waves, electrical arcs and impact sparks bring each rally to life against a cyberpunk backdrop.
– Three ways to play: solo against the CPU, local two-player versus, or two-player cooperative.
– Team-based co-op: independent paddles, shared scoring and a faster CPU opponent.
– Arcade action: accelerating rallies, dash moves and charged smashes.
– Changing arena rules: distinctive challenges in solo and versus matches.
– Original SID audio: twelve selectable gameplay tracks.
– NO MUSIC mode: dedicated impact sounds, distinct border tones and deeper smash effects.
– Adjustable settings: choose the CPU difficulty and points needed to win each round.
